Forbes calls this Moorish-style Fairmont resort on the south end of Wailea “one of the most luxurious and family-friendly properties on the island.” Families will love that resort is comprised of suites and villas—often with kitchens, sleeper sofas, and private balconies. But it also has three pools, water slides, and six dining options. This Four Seasons was one of the first luxury resorts to open on Maui’s upscale South Shore. It is “perhaps the most elegant of all the resorts on the island’s most sophisticated coast,” says Forbes. “But the Four Seasons is also exceptionally child-friendly.” Beyond the three pools and plentiful cabanas, the resort’s Kids for All Seasons club is complimentary—and there’s no resort fee, either. The “outstanding kids’ club program makes it possible for parents to relax and to enjoy the massages, nice dinners, and resort amenities,” says one Google reviewer. This plush Relais & Chateaux resort set on a hillside is all-suites and all-adults. While the Hotel Wailea not located right on the beach, staying here means exclusive access to a private stretch of Wailea Beach, just a mile away. “If you’re checking into Hotel Wailea, you’re going to get some peace and quiet,” says Condé Nast Traveler, thanks to both the no-kids restrictions and the calming aesthetics of sliding doors, oak floors, and coral fossil stone. One Tripadvisor reviewer describes the idyllic grounds as “Garden of Eden pretty—flowering trees, bushes and green green grass everywhere.” Another says that being a few minutes from the beach “wasn’t an issue, as the hotel will drive you to/from the beach in a Tesla Model X, and they have a beach attendant who’ll set up chairs, and provide towels and cold water.”    >> Book this hotel for less

This 547-room Marriott resort is a classic crowd-pleaser with its three pools, golf and a spa. “You might be just minutes from Kahului Airport, but you’d never know it while taking in the tranquil views of the Pacific from your spacious balcony,” says TimeOut. The combination of a Roy Yamaguchi restaurant “and one of the best luaus on this side of the island” gives this Marriott “some of the better Maui-centric experiences on the island.” One Google reviewer says that Wailea Beach Resort “is one of the best Marriott properties that I have been to. This branch of the upscale Hyatt brand sits on 15 beachfront acres and has a luxury-meets-minimalist ambience. There are four infinity pools and acclaimed onsite restaurants. “It’s the spirit of Zen, more than Aloha, that greets you as you walk into Andaz’s open-air lobby on Maui,” says Condé Nast Traveler, adding that the resort “feels like a rich relative’s beach house, yet still has all the amenities you’d expect.” Travelers note those perks in their reviews. “The resort fee here is worth it,” says one Google reviewer. “Complimentary snacks (as a replacement for the minibar in room)—Macadamia nut cookies, Hawaiian style potato chips, POG juice, Hawaiian cola or root beer—and complimentary kayak, paddleboard and outrigger tours in the morning.
