The city of Las Vegas specializes in over-the-top experiences: high-stakes gambling, big-name shows, and celebrity-chef dining. Las Vegas hotels are no different, with their glittering towers, high-end shopping and elaborate pools. At some Vegas hotels, luxury is defined by extra-splashiness, but for others, the highest form of luxury is creating a bubble of calm away from the party scene. Either way, these luxury hotels in Las Vegas make you feel like a VIP.

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas (3708 Las Vegas Blvd. S.; 702-698-7000) The Strip

This sleek hotel with three pools and acclaimed dining—including the Wicked Buffet and the Chandelier Bar—“is truly the heart of Modern Luxury in Sin City,” writes Vegas magazine. “Surrounded by digital-screen pillars and smoked-glass doors, this high-end hotel is a beauty of metropolis and technological wonder.” One Tripadvisor user really likes one of those perks, writing, “Rose the virtual concierge is always there to help you. The Cosmo has such a fun, classy and sexy vibe! We stayed in a fountain view terrace room… the only way to go in my opinion.”     >> Book this hotel for less

Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas (3960 S. Las Vegas Blvd.; 702-632-5000) The Strip

Even though this 424-room Four Seasons with Art Deco style occupies floors 35 through 39 of the Mandalay Bay, this “gaming-free sanctuary barely feels like it’s connected to the action,” writes Condé Nast Traveler. “It has its own lobby, scene, restaurants—and best of all, serene pool and beautiful spa.” Google reviewers praise the service and one says, “You have the best of both worlds, a traditional high-end hotel and access to all the fun of the casino at the Mandalay.”     >> Book this hotel for less

Bellagio Hotel & Casino (3600 S Las Vegas Blvd.; 888-987-6667) The Strip

This Strip resort has become an icon thanks in part to its colorful fountain show out front. Condé Nast Traveler calls it a “Lake Como–inspired wonderland” that’s “a model for the over-the-top Vegas extravaganza resorts.” Inside, guests can enjoy a spa, the atrium garden known as the Conservatory, and extravagantly outfitted rooms. One Yelp user says “just as much as their fountains, the Conservatory deserves a stop,” while another raves about the room. Clean, huge bathroom with separate shower/tub, double sinks. Curtains controlled electronically. Luxury at its best.”     >> Book this hotel for less

Vdara Hotel & Spa (2600 W. Harmon Ave.; 866-745-7767) The Strip

Some people define luxury in Vegas by the absence of a casino, and the serene ambience that comes along with that. “If you want to feel like you’re checking into a destination spa, Vdara may be the hotel that comes closest in Las Vegas.” writes Condé Nast Traveler. Indeed, its spa was awarded five stars by the Forbes Travel Guide. If you do want a casino, though, the hotel is connected to the casino-equipped Aria. The hotel also earns fans for being non-smoking. “Atmosphere and vibe in Vdara is a bit quieter and more laid back than the casino hotels,” says a Tripadvisor user. “If you like a quiet place, this might be for you.”’     >> Book this hotel for less

Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas (3752 S. Las Vegas Blvd.; 702-590-8888) The Strip

This former Mandarin Oriental “feels secluded and private,” says Condé Nast Traveler. “You’ll be greeted by name when you arrive at the lobby on the 23rd floor, and there’s no line for check-in. The true pièce de résistance? No gaming, which means everything is blissfully quiet.” A Google reviewer agrees: “The rooms are very modern and updated; the staff was absurdly kind and helpful! The location was somehow both quiet and on the Strip without feeling like we were on top of the craziness!”     >> Book this hotel for less

The Palazzo at The Venetian Resort (3325 S Las Vegas Blvd.; 702-607-7777) The Strip

The luxury tower that’s part of the Italian-style Venetian Resort offers extra luxury by way of space—it’s comprised only of suites, and offers the largest standard rooms on the Strip. The Palazzo “prides itself on refinement” says Vegas magazine, “offering elevated Chinese at Mott 32 and intimate atmospheres at the Electra Cocktail Club. When you’re ready to explore, take a ride in the Venetian’s Grand Canal or shop designer brands including Fendi and Coach.” Take it up a notch by upgrading to Prestige access, which one Tripadvisor calls “so worth it. Continental breakfast, a long happy hour, and bottled water we could take back to our room. Spacious rooms and top notch staff. Gorgeous hotel.”     >> Book this hotel for less
