The oldest national park in Utah, Zion National Park is an outdoor lover’s paradise. It’s a 150,000-acre wonderland of red, orange, and yellow sandstone that’s home to slot canyons, hoodoos and lots of wildlife. If you don’t want to camp, the nearby town of Springdale is the main gateway town to Zion. Here are the best hotels near Zion National Park, all of which make excellent bases for outdoor adventures.

The nearest major airport is Harry Reid International in Las Vegas, about two and a half hours away. Once you arrive, you can easily fill days with hiking, rock-climbing, horseback riding, or just soaking up the scenery.

Zion National Park Lodge (1 Zion Lodge; 435-772-7700) Springdale

As the only non-campground lodging option inside the park, this Southwestern-style lodge offers suites, cabins, and “vintage ‘parkitecture’ at its finest,” writes Condé Nast Traveler. “Think wood beam rafters, gas-powered fireplaces, colorful local fabrics, private porches, and bathtubs for post-hike soaking. Just don’t expect a fast Wi-Fi signal.” One Google reviewer raves that the lodge is “right across the road from the emerald pools trail and the bus stop takes you right to the other places. So peaceful at night and a chance to observe the deer and turkeys.” And another writes, “to get to the trailheads and parking lots before the park opened was priceless.”
