One upscale neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro is perhaps most famous for inspiring a song—“Girl from Ipanema” from 1965. Today, the coastal Brazil enclave lives up to that song’s jazzy vibe well, with its lovely beach setting, easy proximity to Copacabana, and its selection of buzzing restaurants, galleries, and nightlife. To stay in the heart of it, here are five great hotels in Rio de Janeiro’s Ipanema neighborhood.

Central for sightseeing not only in Ipanema, but easy walking distance to Copacabana as well. Has a modern contemporary vibe with tropical chic touches of decoration in common areas and rooms.” >> Book this hotel for less
