Midtown Manhattan is, in many ways, the heart of New York City. It’s home to Times Square, Broadway theaters, the Empire State Building, and countless shops and restaurants. It also offers a wide range of hotels—some that embrace New York-style luxury and others that embody value and easy access. Here are our picks for the best hotels in midtown Manhattan.

This 230-room boutique hotel “works for travelers seeking the basics but with panache and a few perks,” says The Telegraph. That includes “uber-comfy king beds in tiny rooms, luxurious rain-showers and ‘moodpad’ controls.” The hotel makes a great home base for Times Square and Broadway shows. “I would be out all day, come back in the afternoon to recharge before going back out,” one Yelp user writes. “The location is super close to subway stations, and a quick walk to theaters and Hell’s Kitchen.
