Two hotels occupy the Wynn area on the Las Vegas Strip: The Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Las Vegas. While the two plush properties are owned by the same company and share some public spaces and amenities, the hotels—located in two separate towers—have their own pronounced personalities. Here’s a rundown on Wynn vs. Encore.
In a Nutshell: Wynn vs. Encore
The 2,700-room Wynn, which opened in 2005, is the original hotel of the Wynn complex, and exudes a classic upscale Vegas vibe—elegance balanced with bling. When the 2,000-suite Encore opened in 2008, it created a different kind of high-roller ambience, appealing to a younger crowd looking for nightlife, modern design, and color. Both hotels use the Wynn Rewards programs, which gives members a discount on hotel rates and lets them earn credits that can be used at the hotel restaurants, spa and onsite events.

Price: Wynn vs. Encore
The two hotels’ rates are roughly the same. The Wynn may cost a few dollars more per night, though its rooms are slightly smaller than those at Encore. Both hotels charge a $50 resort fee that covers in-room Wi-Fi, a digital newsstand and the fitness center.
Location: Wynn vs. Encore
The Wynn and Encore are both on South Las Vegas Blvd., also known as the Vegas Strip, just north of the Bellagio and Venetian. Self-parking is complimentary at both hotels and even valet is complimentary if you stay in one of the concierge-level Tower Suites at either hotel.
Features: Wynn vs. Encore
Both hotels have their own casinos—though the Wynn’s is larger—as well as two luxury shopping areas: the Wynn Esplanade (with Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Hermes and more), and the equally high-end Encore Esplanade (with shops such as Christian Louboutin).
Dining options at the Wynn include the throwback-Vegas-style Delilah and the Michelin-starred Wing Lei (the first Chinese restaurant in the U.S. to earn a star). Encore’s dining lineup includes the Frank-themed Sinatra as well as buzzy, after-hours XS Nightclub.
Both resorts have their own pools with cabanas, but Encore ups the ante with the day-and-night pool party at Encore Beach Club. The Encore Theater, meanwhile, hosts a variety of performances, including concerts and comedy shows.
Each hotel has its own opulent spa: The Wynn’s spa is the first in Las Vegas to receive a Forbes Five-Star Award (try its Chinese-influenced Good Luck Ritual), while the Encore’s spa offers treatments include the Polynesian-style Nalu Body Ritual.
Room Amenities: Wynn vs. Encore
Both the Wynn and Encore offer pillow-top Wynn Dream Beds as well as Amazon’s Alexa in rooms and suites. The decor in Wynn rooms tends to be in subtle earth and wood tones, while Encore rooms have lighter, more contemporary palette, accented with black and color. An Encore Resort King spans 745 square feet and includes a separate living room with a work space and an oversized marble bathtub; the Wynn’s Resort King room is a little smaller—645 feet—and instead of having a separate living room, is more spread out with a large table that can be used for dining or a desk.
Both hotels offer concierge-level “Tower Suites”—suites that come with their own check-in counters, dedicated elevators and perks such as a daily breakfast credit, coffee and tea service, and an exclusive pool deck.
