The Mandalay Bay complex on the Las Vegas Strip is actually comprised of two hotels: the namesake Mandalay Bay and Delano Las Vegas, which will rebrand as the W Las Vegas, a Marriott property, before 2024 is up. While they share some public spaces, the two hotels offer two distinct experiences both in terms of rooms, amenities and ambience. Here’s a breakdown of Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay vs. Delano Las Vegas.
In a Nutshell: Mandalay Bay vs. Delano
The Mandalay Bay Resort is in many ways a classic Strip resort, with a casino, a spa, and plentiful dining options, but it sets itself apart as the owner of one of the best hotel pools in Vegas. Delano Las Vegas, on the other hand, is a non-gaming, non-smoking, all-suites resort whose focus is on elegant, tranquil vibes—but its guests can also use the fabulous Mandalay Bay pool complex. Guests at both hotels can join the MGM Rewards program, where you earn points on hotel stays, gaming and dining, as well amenities you charge to your room, such as pool cabana rentals, spa treatments, and retail.

Price: Mandalay Bay vs. Delano
Mandalay Bay tends to offer rates that are about 10% lower than Delano Las Vegas. But to be fair, the Delano is an all-suite property, and rooms are a little larger. Both hotels charge a $45 per night resort fee that covers in-room WiFi, some streaming services, and a digital newsstand.
Location: Mandalay Bay vs. Delano
Both hotels are located along the southern end of the Strip, south of the Luxor and across Interstate 15 from Allegiant Stadium, home of the NFL’s Raiders. For easy access to different parts of the Strip, you can catch a tram at the Mandalay Bay complex. Parking is the same for both properties: $18 a day to self-park and $35 or $40 (weekends) for valet. Self-parking is free for MGM Rewards Members who have achieved at least the levels of Pearl, Gold, Platinum and NOIR.
Features: Mandalay Bay vs. Delano
The Mandalay Bay’s biggest selling point is the Mandalay Bay Beach—an 11-acre pool complex with a sand beach, wave pool and lazy river—as well as the eye-popping Shark Reef Aquarium where you can see marine life up close and even help feed the sharks. The hotel also has two performance venues—the House Blue Music Arena and the Michelob Ultra Arena—and the Spa Mandalay with both spa treatments and salon services. The dining options cover a wide range, from an upscale steak house to a food court and a branch of Wahlbergers.
The Delano’s dining options are relatively smaller, but include the lowkey 3940 Coffee and Tea and Rivea (French cuisine by heavy hitter chef Alain Ducasse). Don’t miss Delano’s Skyfall Panoramic Bar & Lounge, the 64th floor lounge with 360-degree views. Delano Las Vegas has the zen Bathhouse Spa—with 12 treatment rooms as well as steam rooms and saunas—and the more low-key Delano Beach Club pool area, which features a chess board in the water and hammocks around the pool.
Room Amenities: Mandalay Bay vs. Delano
Rooms at the Mandalay Bay start at 550 square feet and the aesthetics channel beachy vibes with whites and pale pastels. The hotel’s “stay well” rooms feature air and water purifiers and a Vitamin C shower infuser.
The lodgings in the all-suites Delano, meanwhile, start at 750 square feet and include a separate living area, a full bar, and a bedside stereo system with surround sound. Some Mandalay Bay rooms have Strip views, while some Delano suites have views of Allegiant Stadium.
