Since 1852, there have been five versions of the Glen House sitting at this spot—the base of Mt. Washington Auto Road that leads up to the summit. This 68-room version has outdoor fire pits and a saltwater pool. Forbes calls it “subtle but sleek and eco-forward.” While this is a great spot for experiencing Mt. Conde Nast Traveler calls this 269-room, 1902 hotel, “a grand space with a history of famous clientele—noteworthy guests include Thomas Edison and three U.S. presidents. The magnificent porch offers views of the White Mountain National Forest.” The hotel also has a golf course, spa, and six dining options. Online reviewers point out that there are two distinct sections—the older Historic Hotel with smaller rooms and the newer Presidential Wing, which has suites and a concierge lounge. “Stay in a Presidential Suite,” writes a Google reviewer. “The private lounge is well worth it.
