With its bright green exterior and an imposing lion statue out front, the MGM Grand on South Las Vegas Boulevard cuts striking profile. While the neighboring Signature at MGM Grand hotel has a similar name, it is a separate hotel that offers some different experiences for Las Vegas visitors. Both hotels belong to the MGM resort family. The 5,000-room MGM Grand is indeed grand, with a large casino, several nightlife options and a 6.5-acre pool complex. The Signature, meanwhile, consists of three 38-story towers with a total of 1,728 suites. It has no casino, a much smaller pool area, and a tranquil vibe—perfect for people who want to access a nearby casino and party scene, but not be in the middle of it.
Both hotels use the MGM Rewards program, where you earn points on hotel stays, gaming and dining, as well as the experiences you charge to your room, like pool cabanas and spa treatments.

Compared to the rest of the MGM-family hotels in Las Vegas, MGM Grand and The Signature at MGM Grand are mid-range, though rates can vary a lot by date. In general, The Signature runs just a few dollars more than MGM Grand—but then, all of The Signature’s rooms are suites. The resort fee at MGM Grand is $45 a day, while Signature is $42 a day, and both cover in-room Wi-Fi, a digital newsstand and some streaming services.

Both hotels are located in the MGM Grand complex on South Las Vegas Blvd, at the corner of Tropicana Avenue. For most guests, self-parking is $18 a day, while valet parking costs $35 on weeknights and $40 on weekends. Self-parking is free for MGM Rewards members who have achieved the levels of Pearl, Gold, Platinum or NOIR.

The MGM Grand has everything you might want from a Vegas vacation in one spot: an enormous casino, the 6.5-acre Grand Pool complex (complex with both lazy rivers and cabanas for hire) and the day-party scene at the Wet Republic Ultra Pool. The resort is also home is the MGM Grand Garden Arena (think big name concerts) and big shows like Ka by Cirque du Soleil. There’s also a long list of restaurants, ranging from a food court and a classic Vegas buffet to high-voltage celebrity chef eateries like Atelier de Joel Robuchon, Morimoto Las Vegas, and Top Chef star Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak.
Guests at The Signature at MGM Grand can easily access the MGM Grand options, but the Signature also has its own cafe and lounge, along with its own mellow private pool complex.
Most important, access between the hotels is not a two-way street. While Signature guests can enjoy any of the amenities at the Grand, Grand guests can’t access the Signature’s pool.

MGM Grand rooms start at 350 square feet and include a built-in mini bar and pillowtop beds—and aesthetics that range from sumptuous darker colors or pastel hues (in the Tower) to exude desert elegance. At The Signature, the elegant suites start at 550 square feet and are decked out in warm earth tones. The floorplans include a separate living area and a kitchenette equipped with a fridge, a small stovetop, microwave toaster and dishes.
